#Truthbomb: Betting On Yourself
As I wake up in the morning and prepare for the day by watching Breakfast Club interviews, I came across a very enlightening Emory Jones video. In his interview he talked about "Betting on Yourself". His context described how he used the "Betting on Yourself" motto to stay positive during his 12 year prison sentence. The deeper philosophical truth behind that motto stood out to me. In this life, your goals/aspirations/motivations are constantly derailed by a multitude of variables. Your job may not believe in you or your dreams. Your spouse may not believe in you or your dreams. Your mentors may not believe in you or your dreams. You owe it to yourself to bet on you. You owe it to yourself to be the primary motivator for your dreams. No one else can take that role from you, without your permission. I have, over the past 10 years, helped construct other people's dreams. I did so in the name of trying to construct my own. Yet in the end I lost sight of my vision and relied on others to provide that for me. Each job I've busted my ass at ultimately ends up making someone else rich, or funds someone else's vision of their future. It's time to start betting on my own future. It's time to start betting on your own future. The truth is that a lot of people give up on themselves before anyone else does. DON'T. You are the primary motivation for your dreams. Make that a reality! #truthbomb
